I don't think Hypnotism is working correctly.
On two different games now ive had it score 6 points for some, but 3 for others - even though they all qualify. Not sure what's disqualifying some of them, but they're certainly alone in row and column (I always stagger my doodles now in case this school comes up)
Woo, finally got a top score of 110!
... although I very much feel like this was one part luck, and one part learning what schools are available and learning the manner in which things play out so I can (try to) preempt placements and gamble on big payouts. (My usual scores are in the 80's)
I would love to see a little more control over or foresight on the schools - they can make or break a run so easily. So much so that it feels they make more of a difference than the actual placement of your symbols.
Having them show up even 4 placements sooner - so you can play to the second school more and establish a course earlier would help a great deal. Alternatively having a preview of what is available before having to pick, or having it linked to what has already been placed somewhat (having the second school alter the rules over a symbol you've not even invested in doesn't present a meaningful choice)
I would also love to see the "Hold to speed up count" and "Replay count" features that Tiny Island has - they greatly aid the play experience and help clarify a few school effects that you've misread (not that I've ever done that before...)
So, I've been playing this a while - it's very addicting and a very nice take on the genre. It seems very balanced, and feels good to play :)
One complaint I have is that placement rules can sometimes be super annoying - having to place a doodle adjacent to another doodle is almost never going to be taken, while later in the game, placing a ribbon not adjacent to anything else is pretty much going to give you 0-1 points.
Additionally, sometimes you get 2 choices which are identical. It would be nice if you somehow removed both this and the special cases from above.
Other than that it's a great game! Edit: Managed to clip 100! Current high score is 106 :)
73 on my second attempt.
Nice! My personal best is 98!
A list of "what scores what" would be cool.
The ? in the top left opens up a menu that does just that, unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean.
It might be helpful to highlight that little (?) in some way on the first turn - I figured it out eventually, but I didn't notice it until halfway through my first playthrough.
Same.
Love this! Would be great if there was a way to hold down the mouse/spacebar to speed up scoring at the end.
Noted! I'll see what I can do about that.
cooool
Thank you!
